Analog Restorations Product FAQ

Answers about Analog Restorations turntable platter mats, custom artwork, artwork from known artist around the country, vinyl record cleaning products, Wotto editions, art prints, and accessories.

What is Analog Restorations?

Analog Restorations is an independent New Jersey company developing turntable accessories and record care products. Our work grew from more than a decade of restoring, repairing, and selling vintage turntables. We combine purpose-developed materials, in-house product development, and artist collaborations to make products for record playback and the listening space. Regarded as the best cork platter mats and cleaning supplies for the money. High value, actual audio product.

What makes Analog Restorations different from other turntable accessory brands?

Analog Restorations develops functional products from hands-on experience with vintage turntables. Our products are shaped by material selection, engineering, and testing, with artwork added to products that already serve a purpose.

● Proprietary cork: Developed with a specialized U.S. cork manufacturer for a dense, uniform surface. The material is sliced from blocks into flat sheets and precision-cut into mats. Signature Series mats receive an additional suede-like surface finish.

● Hand-formed carbon fiber: Our carbon mat combines real 2 × 2 twill carbon fiber, a record-label recess, and eight A.R.C. Resonance Control pads. The design was refined over years of development.

● In-house record cleaner: Our 9.3 cleaning fluid is formulated and produced by Analog Restorations and paired with a specialty cloth selected for its absorbency.

● Artist collaborations: Artwork by Wotto, Karen Payton, Sarah DeLeonibus, and Serifs and Whiskey brings individual artistic styles to products for the listening experience. Wotto’s takeover artwork was created exclusively for Analog Restorations.

● Direct custom-design assistance: Customers can submit their own artwork and work with us on the layout, with proof approval before production.

Where is Analog Restorations based, and where are the products made?

Analog Restorations is an independent New Jersey company. Our cork is harvested in Portugal and processed by a specialized U.S. manufacturer; our cork mats are precision-cut in small batches in the USA. Our carbon mats are hand-formed, and our 9.3 record cleaning fluid is formulated and produced in-house. The crystal whiskey glasses included in Wotto gift sets are made in Poland. Materials and production methods are identified by product rather than applying one origin claim to the entire catalog.

Which Analog Restorations product should I choose?

● Natural cork with engraved artwork: Signature Series platter mats.

● Bold artwork, photographic detail, or true white: Performance Series UV-printed cork mats.

● Artwork with the natural cork showing through: Studio Series sublimation-printed mats.

● A hometown or meaningful location: Geographic Collection city-map cork mats.

● Your own image or logo: Custom printed or laser-engraved cork mats.

● Real carbon fiber with exclusive Wotto artwork: Wotto Limited Edition Carbon Fiber Platter Mat Sets.

● DJ cueing and record movement: Felt slipmats.

● Quick record care: Record Prep Cleaning Wipes and refill packs.

● Cleaning fluid with a matching cloth: Wotto Edition Record Cleaning Solution.

● Record care and a gift presentation: Wotto Vinyl Cleaning Ritual Kit or Collectors Package.

● Artwork for a listening space: Canvas prints and the Wotto “Analog Life” paper art print.

What makes Analog Restorations cork platter mats different?

Our proprietary cork material starts with Portuguese cork processed by a specialized U.S. manufacturer. The cork is formed in blocks and sliced into flat sheets instead of supplied on a roll. We developed this construction for a dense, consistent surface and reduced roll memory. Mats are precision die-cut in small batches in the USA. The Signature Series receives an additional surface finish for a soft, suede-like feel.

What size are the cork platter mats, and will one fit my turntable?

Analog Restorations cork platter mats measure approximately 11.8 inches (299.7 mm) in diameter and 2.5 mm thick. They are replacement mats for most standard 12-inch turntable platters. Check platter clearance, raised edges, recessed mat areas, and the thickness of your original mat. For model-specific guidance, contact Analog Restorations before ordering.

Yes. Analog Restorations offers custom laser-engraved and custom printed cork platter mats. Submit your artwork, photograph, logo, map, or design idea through our Custom Order Request Form for review. A digital proof is provided before production. An online preview is approximate; the approved proof guides the finished design. Send the clearest, highest-resolution file available, or vector artwork when available.

Can you help prepare my artwork, and can you print white?

Yes. Contact Analog Restorations before ordering if your design needs cleanup, background removal, layout changes, or color adjustments. Performance Series direct UV printing supports true white. Studio Series sublimation does not print white: those areas generally show the natural cork. Laser engraving creates detail in natural cork without added color. We can help identify the appropriate method for your artwork.

Are custom mats suitable for gifts, bands, or business logos?

Custom mats can feature personal photographs, original artwork, band or business logos, or a meaningful city map. They suit personalized gifts and branded projects when the recipient uses a compatible turntable. Submit your project details for artwork review and timing. Use artwork you own or have permission to reproduce.

How quickly are custom platter mats produced?

Custom mat listings state that orders can typically ship the next business day after final proof approval. Timing depends on the project and approval. Confirm timing before ordering for a deadline. Wotto editions have separate lead times listed below.

What are the Wotto Limited Edition Carbon Fiber Platter Mat Sets?

These sets pair hand-formed, real carbon fiber platter mats with artwork created exclusively for Analog Restorations by Wotto. Two editions were released: Black artwork on carbon fiber and Blue/Black artwork on carbon fiber. Each edition is limited to 10 sets and will not be repeated once sold out. Check the individual product page for current availability.

Each mat measures 11.8 inches in diameter and 3 mm overall thickness, including its eight A.R.C. pads. The carbon fiber itself is 1 mm thick, with a 2 × 2 twill weave and a record-label recess.

Each set includes the mat, a 12 × 12-inch art print on 150 lb cardstock, an individually numbered authenticity card that doubles as a desktop display frame, a 4 × 6-inch artwork detail printed directly onto real carbon fiber, and a presentation box.

What do the A.R.C. pads do?

The eight silica-based A.R.C. Resonance Control isolation pads support the underside of the Analog Restorations carbon fiber mat. They are designed to help control unwanted vibration and reduce the contact area between the turntable platter and mat. They are included with the carbon mat; they are not a cork-mat feature.

Will I need to adjust VTA, and will a different mat change the sound?

Setup depends on the turntable, cartridge, and thickness of the mat being replaced. Cork mats are 2.5 mm thick; carbon mats are 3 mm thick including their pads. Many setups will not require vertical tracking angle (VTA) adjustment, but follow your turntable manufacturer’s guidance. A mat changes the record’s contact with the platter; audible results vary by system. No specific improvement in sound is guaranteed.

Is a cork platter mat the same as a DJ slipmat?

No. Analog Restorations cork and carbon platter mats are intended for normal record playback. Felt DJ slipmats allow the record to move independently of the platter during cueing and mixing. Choose the product for the way you use your turntable.

What are the specifications and designs of the felt slipmats?

Analog Restorations felt slipmats measure 12 inches in diameter and use 16 oz felt with a non-glazed underside. Artwork is dyed into the material to preserve its soft surface. Customization is available.

Developed for Analog Restorations

Our cork isn't selected from a catalog.

Harvested in Portugal and processed in the United States by a small, experienced manufacturer, every sheet begins with generations of craftsmanship.

After nearly a year of research, testing, and refinement, we developed a proprietary cork blend and construction made exclusively for Analog Restorations.

This custom material is the foundation of every platter mat we produce—designed with purpose, not marketing. It's what makes our products different.

Every decision we make must answer one question:

Does it improve the experience?

If it doesn't, it doesn't belong.

This goes beyond just our platter mats and extends to how every Analog Restorations product is designed.

We don't believe craftsmanship and innovation should end when the music begins.

From the moment you open the package to the moment the stylus meets the groove, every detail has been considered.

That's what you deserve.
