These are groups that we feel really do a good job at representing the audio community as a whole. From the information that is given, the honesty that is conveyed, and individual character of the people sharing it.
We do not pay for reviews nor do we work with any review based group that asks for money.
We believe that, while that is the business of others and they are entitled to do so, it leads to a large and continued separation from the core values of what the audio world should be for people. Additionally, that misinformation or misleading information, from many different sources and platforms, does not facilitate the ability for people to have a personal experience and the grasp the full potential of the hobby.....
.......which is against the entire principles of music.
If you are not familiar with Frank, now is a good time to dig in. Frank is certainly not a fly by night guy looking to spread an agenda. When you watch him, and occasionally his wife, you can feel the energy, excitement, and true personal character. It cannot be expressed enough on how important that is for the audio community and what it is about, driving home the personal connection to music and how we listen. Each show is informative and different, making it very clear that he is here because he wants to be and that he truly loves it.
Which when you think about that, that is why most of us are here.
I often call record collecting a hobby, but is it something more? We are talking about that, plus sleeving records.
A mysterious - and unexpected - package turned up in my PO Box, including a card signed by Yoko Ono, and a copy of the 2021 reissue of John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band (deluxe 2 LP version). I'll tell you all about it in this video. PLUS, I will show you a very cool turntable cork mat.
In this video, I will down my Top 5 modern turntables in this price range, with some honorable mentions. I also share my thoughts on those suitcase-style, all-in-one record players (Crosleys, and the like)..
How did Columbia House make boatloads of money giving away stacks of free vinyl records, tapes and compact discs? I'll tell you in this video -- Part 2 of my look at the Columbia House Music Club.
