Putting a map on a turntable mat is not an original idea. Maps have been part of home décor for years and in some pretty creative ways.
With the development of our new cork we now have the ability to print highly detailed designs with lines as small as 0.18pt. Previously such detail would have to be removed from the image or reserved for traditional felt slip mats (as seen already across the market). However, our proprietary cork has really pushed the boundaries on what can be done. Additionally with our post process to eliminate fading, the smaller details are not going to disappear as time goes on. This means we can now add the décor of a map to your turntable and have it be a product we are proud of.
We certainly are not going to add that many products to our line up. However, we have processed and optimized some of the major cities and they can be found in our online store. Our in-house graphic design team will be adding more and are always available to custom produce a city from our list, just for you.
So if you don't see the city that you are looking for you can email us at artwork@analogrestorations.com and we can respond with a full mock up for you to see.
With our Geographical Series we can change any part, whether the color of the water, the size of the map a location point, or any other aspect you could think of. With all the customizable options we can't list them all. Don't let what you see be the limit on possibilities.
Email us @artwork@analogrestorations.com and we can turn any of your ideas into a mat you can purchase.
At Analog Restorations we have our own in-house graphic design team. We do not move images from one place to the next, sending them off to a print shop so you can at-least have something go to market... just something to sell. This means we can make every adjustment needed to bring you the best product possible. After all, we truly think that's fair to the consumer. To us, that defines what a brand should be.
In this image we show that its not just our cork that allows us to refine our product, but rather the cork is just another crucial part among many. The bottom line is we did not develop our cork so that we can print nicer images. However, the byproduct (aside from the benefits in audio) of having a perfectly clean, consistent, and smooth surface is a more details that you can produce and more intricate designs. But that's not good enough.
The image shows two mats on top of each other, both happen to be the cork that we developed. Even with a perfect surface, the image on the right does not have the clarity and detail as the one on the left. The one on the right is also a file that is twice the size that the graphic design industry typically uses as a standard. Yet, its still not good enough. We couldn't imagine the further detail that would have been lost had it also been printed on a lesser quality mat. For us, we have to believe that most mats are going to be that way. The image on the left is the same design, but printed direct from the file. This means there is no loss in the detail of the final product. This detail is what we were after.
This is our current list of cities ready to go. If you don't see the city you are looking for, please shoot us an email and we can try to add it.
